The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers. The DAAD Regional Office for India is located in New Delhi with Information Points in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Dhaka and Colombo. DAAD promotes academic exchange between Germany and India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. It provides information about education and research in Germany and grants scholarships to students and researchers. DAAD supports bilateral and multilateral research projects, thus promoting university co-operations and international partnerships between German universities and universities in India and South Asia through a number of funding schemes that aim to foster cooperation among higher education institutions.

Association of Indian Universities (AIU), one of the premier apex higher education institutions of the Country established in 1925, is a research-based policy advice institution to the Government of India in the field of Higher Education, Sports & Culture and internationalization. At present it has a membership of 850 universities including 17 international universities. Since its inception, it has been playing a vital role in shaping Indian higher education. AIU is vested with the power for according equivalence to Degrees/Qualifications offered by the universities across the world with those offered in India. Being an apex institution, it constitutes an integral part of all major decision-making committees and commissions in the country and facilitates cooperation and coordination among Indian universities and liaise between the universities and the Government and also national and international bodies of higher education in other countries in the matters of common interest. As a National Sports Promotion Organization (NSPO) it promotes sports among Member-Universities.

UEFISCDI - The Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI) is a public entity of the central administration under the ultimate authority of the Romanian Ministry of Education. UEFISCDI has positioned itself as an important national player and international partner, developing multiple projects to further evidence-based public policies in areas such as internationalization of higher education, access and equity or employability, by elaborating specific studies and analyses. In the last decade, it has supported higher education institutions in their specific internationalization activities. To promote the Romanian higher education at the international level, to attract international students to study programs included in the educational offer of Romanian universities and to raise awareness regarding Romania’s status as an EU study destination, UEFISCDI has developed the StudyinRomania platform (www.studyinromania.gov.ro), together with promotional tools such as mobile or VR application. Thus, StudyinRomania acts as an overarching umbrella concept for the national promotional activities.
